Aftercare that protects the result

1. SPF every single day — non-negotiable. Fresh skin burns and re-pigments easily, which undoes the entire point of treating pigmentation.
2. Don't pick or peel the flaking skin. Pulling it early causes marks that last months.
3. Pause retinoids and acids for a week.
4. Keep the barrier supported — gentle cleanser, plain moisturizer.

How many sessions

For pigmentation, a series of three to six peels spaced three to four weeks apart is where results become obvious. A single peel brightens; a series changes the tone.

Peels combine especially well with dermaplaning beforehand — removing the dead layer first lets the acid penetrate evenly.
